Welcome Text

As Head teacher I welcome you to Culgaith Church of England School and am privileged to welcome you to our school website. We love working with our amazing children, parents, staff and governors and we hope our website gives you a broad understanding of our school as well as giving specific information you may need.

At Culgaith C of E School we believe that we are all uniquely created individual parts of one body. Our school is a place where we value the character of every child and strive for all to be ambitious for themselves and their world. Culgaith C of E Primary School is a very happy, caring, friendly and welcoming school for children between the ages of 3 and 11 where exciting things happen and people grow, play and learn together. We are situated to the East of Penrith, just off the M6 motorway and the A66. We serve the village of Culgaith and surrounding areas.

The well-being of all members of Culgaith C of E School community is very important to us. We believe that we must nurture the whole child and feel strongly that creativity and fun play a major part in the learning process, embedded with Christian Values. We educate for Life in All its Fullness with wisdom, hope, community and dignity. We work to ensure each individual child shines during their time at Culgaith where they are happy, safe and learn.

“Pupil’s love coming to Culgaith school” During a recent inspection at Culgaith School, it was found that personal development of our pupils is outstanding, “The amazing opportunities for pupils’ personal development bely the school’s small size. Pupils bubble with enthusiasm when they talk about the range of activities on offer. For example, they learn to sail, ride ponies and to take part in debates with other schools. Older pupils look forward excitedly to residential stays in this country and abroad. Pupils are exceptionally well prepared for life beyond their primary school” (Ofsted report November 2023). The report goes on to describe how “Pupils, including those with SEND, benefit from an exciting, ambitious curriculum that covers a broad range of subjects.” If you would like to know more please feel free to get in touch. We look forward to welcoming you to Culgaith CE Primary, thank you for taking the time to visit our page! Mrs Dobinson (Head teacher)
