Summer Term 2024
Welcome back, we hope you have had a wonderful Easter break, we look forward to hearing all about your adventures. We are excited for the term ahead with a packed curriculum, kicking off with our two night residential to Patterdale Hall, before exploring our main topic of Oceans and Vikings.
Our class page on the website will keep you up to date with information, what’s happening
in Class 2 and give you a feel for our fabulous children and class.
This year we have Mrs Creswell and Miss Fawcett as our wonderful teaching assistants.
Spellings – Children will be taught their new spellings for the week every Friday and spelling checks Thursday mornings, this is to avoid any cross over of taught spellings. Children have logins to Spelling Shed where they can practice their spellings both at school and home.
Reading – Children are responsible for changing their book once completed. In class we independently read every morning before lessons start and we expect the children to read at home, a mixture of shared and independent is great. To monitor reading at this age, it is vital that they/you fill in their reading diaries – this helps us keep a close track on progress. Please help with this at home, thank you.
Homework – Guided reading will take place with Mrs Parkin on a Monday. Homework for Class 2, guided reading / reading comprehension homework will be set on a Monday, Maths homework will be set on a Wednesday - both to be collected the following week. Homework is now completed on Showbie, children have logins for this app and use at school.
If you have any concerns or questions about school or your child, please contact us directly on one of the following email addresses and we will do our best to support you.

Residential at Hawse End
We had a fantastic three day residential at Hawse End, jam packed with activities including orienteering, canoeing, lake walks, rock climbing, fire pit chats, and ghyll scrambling. The children were marvellous developing life skills staying away from home and making memories. We look forward to Patterdale Hall this year.
